General:

Carmen Bakas joined Schipper Noordam per September 2011. Prior to this she was a Judge at the District Court of Breda. She started in 1992 as an attorney at law with Stibbe in Amsterdam. She also worked at the office of Stibbe in London. For over five years Carmen worked in Singapore. She was Director Dutch Desk for KPMG. After that she worked as a corporate lawyer in Mumbai at a reputable law firm. She has published several articles, amongst others "Foreign Investment in India" (Comparative yearbook of Commercial Law). She often spoke on topics at congresses amongst others "Petrovision". She will be responsible for the Asia desk at Schipper Noordam. She has been involved regularly in Indo-Dutch joint ventures and cross border transactions in China. Carmen speaks Hindi.
